Industry-Leading Remanufactured Transmission "No Fault Warranty"

A remanufactured and improved torque converter is included with every transmission. To prevent front seal leaks, vibration, and premature bushing wear, all torque converters are tested for leaks, lock-up, concentricity, and balance. Every fully remanufactured valve body is rebuilt with a complete system correction and recalibration kit, then independently tested. All wear-prone valves are restored to stringent specifications and vacuum tested to confirm proper function.

Each remanufactured transmission undergoes hot, cold, load, and simulated road testing using our proprietary CARS (Computer-Aided Road Simulation) dynamometer program. All remanufactured transmissions are backed by a nationwide, no-hassle warranty.

What does “No Fault” mean?

  • Transferrable – Warranty is attached to the VIN and automatically transfers with vehicle ownership.
  • Nationwide Coverage – Valid anywhere in the continental U.S.
  • Instant Replacement – A replacement unit ships as soon as your claim is approved.
  • Paid Parts & Labor – Authorized repairs performed by a licensed facility are reimbursed for parts and labor.

Authorized claims will be reimbursed according to the Mitchell Repair Manual labor schedule, up to $50/hr. Self-installs or work done by non-licensed repair facilities are not eligible for labor reimbursement.

Warranty Will Be Voided If:

  • The vehicle is modified outside of manufacturer specifications (lift kits, altered suspension, oversized tires, customizations, etc.).
  • A chargeback is filed against the transaction or Core return.
  • Transmission was not re-programmed after installation (printout required).
  • Handwritten documentation or receipts are submitted (only licensed repair facility invoices are accepted).
  • The vehicle is serviced by the purchaser, unless the purchaser is a licensed repair facility.
  • Service records from a licensed repair facility are not provided.
  • Repairs are made without prior approval.
  • Transmission was not properly installed, maintained, used for racing, or run without proper lubrication/cooling.
  • Transmission was disassembled, altered, or returned incomplete without written authorization.
  • Core was not returned or paid for.
  • Falsified information was provided during a claim.
  • Warranty claim was submitted without returning the defective part for inspection.
  • Labor was claimed for self-installs or non-licensed work.
  • Fluids were claimed under warranty but were not originally purchased from us.

Additional Terms & Conditions

  • Warranty reimbursement cannot exceed the original purchase price of the transmission.
  • Warranty coverage ends at the original expiration date and does not reset after repairs or replacements.
  • Failed (defective) units must be returned to our facility for inspection in order for labor approval.
  • Labor payments are only made upon receipt and inspection of the defective unit, after it is confirmed to be covered.
  • A diagnostics report from a licensed repair facility is required to proceed with a claim.
  • Towing, diagnostic time (without approval), fluids (unless purchased from us), rental, storage, or consequential damages are not covered.
  • Transmission Locator is not responsible for costs related to improper installation, labor errors, or unapproved repairs.
  • This warranty is valid only in the continental United States.
  • No Fault Warranty is only applied one time.
  • Vehicle use shall be immediately discontinued once the issue or problem has been identified, otherwise warranty will be void.

Commercial Use Definition

A commercial vehicle is primarily operated for business rather than personal use. Examples include delivery and logistics vehicles (e.g., FedEx, Amazon vans), ride-share/taxi services (Uber, Lyft), food trucks, landscaping or contractor vehicles, and construction trucks. These typically require commercial insurance and may be subject to additional tax and safety regulations.

If the primary use of the vehicle is tied to earning income or business operations, it is classified as Commercial Use even if owned by an individual.

Any Dispute arising under or in connection with this agreement, or any other related matters, which is subject of the purchasers agreement, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Sussex County in the state of Delaware.

Used Transmission Warranty

Coverage

Transmission Locator (“TL”) warrants used transmissions against defects in materials or workmanship of the following covered parts only:

  • Transmission housing
  • Torque converter (included with automatic transmissions)
  • Internal components including gears and shafts

This warranty does not cover external wiring, sensors, switches, cables, electronics, or other accessory parts that may be transferred from your existing transmission. Accessories left on the transmission are for convenience only and are not covered. We only cover internal components.

Warranty Periods

Model Year 2005 and Older

  • Personal Use: 6 Months / 6,000 Miles (Parts Only)
  • Commercial Use: 6 Months / 6,000 Miles (Parts Only)
  • CVT Transmissions: 6 Months / 6,000 Miles (Parts Only)
  • Manual Transmissions: 6 Months / 6,000 Miles (Parts Only)

Model Year 2006 and Newer

  • Personal Use: 12 Months / 12,000 Miles (Parts Only)
  • Commercial Use: 6 Months / 6,000 Miles (Parts Only)
  • CVT Transmissions: 6 Months / 6,000 Miles (Parts Only)
  • Manual Transmissions: 6 Months / 6,000 Miles (Parts Only)

No extended warranty is available for used transmissions.

Warranty Will Be Voided If:

  • Transmission was not installed within 14 business days of delivery.
  • Transmission was not re-programmed/re-flashed when required (printout required).
  • The vehicle was modified outside manufacturer specifications (lift kits, suspension changes, oversized tires, customizations, etc.).
  • Transmission was improperly installed, not maintained, used for racing, or run without proper lubrication/cooling.
  • Transmission was disassembled, altered, or returned incomplete without written authorization.
  • Core or defective part was not returned for inspection (if required).
  • Falsified information or handwritten receipts were submitted. Only licensed repair facility documentation is accepted.
  • Repairs were made without prior approval.
  • The issue was not reported and vehicle use continues after failure.
  • Transmission was damaged due to overheating, seal/gasket failure, or lack of lubrication.

Additional Terms & Conditions

  • Warranty coverage is limited to a one-time claim per product.
  • Warranty reimbursement cannot exceed the original purchase price of the transmission.
  • Warranty coverage ends at the original expiration date; repairs/replacements do not reset coverage.
  • Failed units must be returned to the Transmission Locator (if required) within 30 days of claim approval for inspection.
  • A diagnostic report from a licensed repair facility is required for claims.
  • TL is not responsible for towing, rental, storage, shipping, transportation, fluids (unless purchased from TL), labor, or consequential damages.
  • Mileage on used transmissions is estimated; exact mileage cannot be verified.
  • Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise noted.
  • Wrongly ordered or misdiagnosed parts are non-refundable.
  • If a return is authorized, the transmission must be received in the same assembled condition as shipped. Altered or disassembled units are not eligible for refund.
  • Rejected shipments will be considered as cancelled after shipping. Cancellation fees per Store Policies will apply.

Installation Requirements (Must Be Followed or Warranty Is Void)

  1. Identify the cause of original transmission failure and repair it.
  2. Verify compatibility of replacement transmission.
  3. Remove oil pan, replace filter and all inline cooler filters.
  4. Replace converter seal and all external seals.
  5. Properly seat torque converter into front pump; check pump/input shaft.
  6. Replace or change over all sensors with new ones.
  7. Flush cooler lines and radiator using a power flush or “Cooler Flush Kit.” Replace radiator/cooler if required by manufacturer.
  8. Clear all transmission computer codes before startup; dealer reprogramming may be required.
  9. Fill with OEM-recommended fluids only.
  10. Check the differential section for proper fluid levels.
  11. Confirm axle side gears are correctly installed.

Limited Liability

TL’s liability is limited exclusively to providing a replacement transmission (if available) or refunding the purchase price. TL does not cover:

  • Labor costs (unless a separate agreement is made in writing).
  • Replacement of fluids, seals, gaskets, or wear items are not covered under warranty.
  • Towing, freight, storage, rental, lost profits, or loss of use are not covered under warranty.
  • Damage caused by improper installation, misuse, modifications, or incompatible parts are not covered under warranty.

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and only within the continental United States. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Sussex County, Delaware.
